Allergies and intolerances

The advantage of ketogenic eating is that it is naturally gluten-free, so people with gluten intolerance or allergies can actually enjoy a ketogenic lifestyle without worries. However, unfortunately, many people also suffer from intolerances or allergies to products commonly used in a ketogenic lifestyle. This includes dairy, nuts, vegetables, fruits, etc. Since there are already many things you don’t eat on a ketogenic lifestyle, the additional burden of an allergy or intolerance can make it quite challenging if it restricts even more foods you can consume.

But there’s a great way to overcome your allergy or intolerance, and that’s through hypnotherapy. Now, you might be thinking, “I don’t believe in that ‘hocus-pocus,'” or “That’s too extreme for me, it’s unfamiliar and scary.” But speaking from personal experience, it’s highly recommended!

I’m a pretty down-to-earth person. I believe in certain things, but I need to experience or see something myself to believe in it. The first time I underwent a hypnotherapy session, I went in with a neutral mindset, thinking, “I don’t think this will work, but I’m open to giving it a chance.” And I can tell you, I was genuinely surprised by the outcome! I used to have a real phobia of wasps, which made me tense every spring and summer when I had to go outside. You wouldn’t catch me sitting on a terrace enjoying a meal. And when I saw a wasp nearby, I would start running, desperately looking for an enclosed space where I could hide, so the wasp couldn’t reach me. After just one session, this irrational fear was completely gone! I still remain cautious not to provoke a wasp sting by trapping it or anything like that, but I am absolutely no longer afraid. This has given me a tremendous sense of freedom, allowing me to finally enjoy being outdoors without constantly being on high alert and in blind panic.

But I’m not the only one; I’ve seen almost miraculous things happen to so many people in my surroundings, including my partner Mitch. He was intolerant to lactose and red meat. Whenever he ate them, he would be stuck in the bathroom for the rest of the day. He underwent a hypnotherapy session for both intolerances, and what do you think happened? Both intolerances were resolved with just one session! Since then, he can enjoy large quantities of dairy and red meat without experiencing any symptoms.

Imagine how great, enjoyable, and relaxing it would be if you could eat anything you want without your body protesting! But there are also many more benefits that hypnotherapy can provide for you.

Food Allergy

Everyone knows that food allergies can be very troublesome. They can lead to severe reactions that can escalate with even the slightest touch or exposure. These reactions can be caused by substances such as fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices, nuts, chicken eggs, cow’s milk, shellfish, and more.
An allergy is triggered by an immune system response. In this case, the allergen is a substance that is not actually harmful to the body, but the body reacts strongly to it. Using NLP techniques, we can reprogram the brain to no longer see these substances as harmful. Communication occurs with every cell in the body. The message is conveyed that the substances, which have triggered such a strong reaction, are not harmful. In fact, they can be a beneficial addition to the body. This makes it possible to significantly reduce or even completely resolve the allergic reaction.

Food Aversion

If you have a strong aversion to eating certain foods, you’ve developed an aversion. Your body can respond with nausea, vomiting, headaches, or abdominal pain. These physical reactions are caused by the emotions associated with the situation. With the help of NLP and/or hypnosis, we can determine why this resistance has developed and work with your unconscious mind to resolve it.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a troublesome chronic condition. Abnormal bowel movements make it difficult to lead a normal life. If you suffer from IBS, you often have to do a lot to keep your bowels under control, such as eating extra healthy and exercising. The causes of irritable bowel syndrome are not always clear to doctors. Therefore, the focus is primarily on foods that affect IBS symptoms and a healthy lifestyle. Scientific studies have shown that hypnosis has a beneficial effect in treating irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Hypnotherapy for IBS is focused on physical symptom relief; reducing pain, restoring regular bowel movements, and increasing stress resistance and self-confidence.

Changing Habits

Behavior that we have done the same way several times quickly becomes a habit. This is very convenient because it means you don’t have to think about everything all the time. However, a habit that was once very useful may no longer serve you or even get in the way. Perhaps old beliefs underlie this change. Now, it’s possible to consciously change habits. This process, however, can be difficult and time-consuming. How nice would it be if you could change it quickly and simply with the help of hypnotherapy?

Take Your Doubts Seriously

Doubts can undermine your intention to change your lifestyle (partially). However, those doubts aren’t there for nothing; they have something to tell you. All aspects of yourself want to be taken seriously. Allow yourself to be surprised by all the practical and wise insights you unconsciously possess and that we can bring out in hypnosis. This will help you reach the decision that’s best for you.

It can be challenging to stick to your own choices when your environment disagrees with them. You’re likely not alone in facing this when it comes to your dietary choices. Together, we can explore why you find it difficult, discover what’s underneath, and initiate the change so that you can better stick to your intentions and be more in tune with yourself.

What Does a Session Look Like?

There are multiple techniques available to help you achieve your goals. You can enter different depths of hypnosis, during which you’ll comfortably relax in a chair. There are also various forms of hypnosis through conversation techniques, where you can work on your goals while standing (and fully conscious). You’ll discuss with the hypnotherapist which technique and form is best for you. What’s most important is that you feel completely comfortable, relaxed, and at ease with the chosen approach.
The forms of hypnotherapy that my favorite therapist offers are not the “wizardry” you sometimes see on TV. You won’t be completely out of touch with reality, being given all sorts of strange instructions. You will remain in complete control of your own body at all times.

Where Can You Seek Help?

There are many hypnotherapists you can turn to. However, like any profession, hypnotherapists vary. Some have specializations, while others are more all-round. You’ll also find good and not-so-good practitioners. If you choose a hypnotherapist who has completed a recognized training program, you can generally expect them to be proficient in their field. Nonetheless, there can be differences in the level of knowledge, techniques, expertise, and craftsmanship among the many hypnotherapists out there.
I’m fortunate that my own mother is a certified hypnotherapist, having not only completed the basic training but also advanced training. She is currently finishing the highest level of hypnotherapy training, so I can say with certainty and full conviction that she is exceptionally good at her job and highly recommended! Okay, I might be biased because she’s my mother… But I guarantee that this is completely separate from my recommendation. When it comes to people’s health, both physically and mentally, you need to stand 100% behind your advice, as I truly do with this recommendation.
